Use Your VA Home Loan Benefit

The VA Home Loan benefit is one of the most powerful financial tools available to veterans. Eligible service members, veterans, and surviving spouses can purchase a home with no down payment, no private mortgage insurance (PMI), and competitive interest rates — backed by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Who Qualifies for a VA Home Loan?

Eligibility is based on service history and discharge status. Generally, veterans who served 90 consecutive days during wartime, 181 days during peacetime, or 6 years in the National Guard or Reserves may qualify. Surviving spouses of veterans who died in service or from service-connected conditions may also be eligible.
